The story

Born from the fig tree of El Salvador

The Love Yourself Tree began with the amate — a great fiddle-leaf fig (not a fruit tree, but a tree of shade and gathering) under which Salvadoran towns have met for generations. Diego Brito has painted it many times over, and no two trees are alike, because no two lives are alike.

Your original is hand-painted over 3–5 weeks. You receive progress photos from the studio in El Salvador.

Shipped worldwide in a protective tube, with a signed certificate of authenticity. Balance due on completion.

Your Love Yourself Tree is painted in acrylic on quality artist canvas and signed by Diego on the front and the back. To travel safely across the world, it ships rolled in a protective art tube — the method museums and galleries use for original canvas.

  • Why rolled? It's the safest, most affordable way to ship a large painting internationally, with no risk of cracking.

The artist

Diego Brito

Salvadoran artist and strategic designer, trained in Visual Communication at Kent State University as a Fulbright scholar. For Diego, the Love Yourself Tree is more than an image — it is a conceptual and psychological exercise: a way to return to the present, to honor the past without clinging to it, and to face the future without fear.

Each tree is painted by hand in acrylic on canvas, leaf by leaf, in a dense pointillist technique — no stencils, no shortcuts. The work is slow on purpose. It is meditation made visible, and it is why no two trees are ever the same.

The series has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across three continents.

How does the preview work, and what if I don't like it?

After you answer the questions, Diego prepares a digital study of your specific tree — your horizon, your palette, your composition — and emails it within 48 hours. You pay nothing until you approve it. We refine it together; small adjustments are part of the process. If it's not right for you, you simply walk away at no cost.

How long does the painting take?

Once your preview is approved and the deposit is placed, your original is hand-painted over roughly 3 to 5 weeks, depending on size and palette. You'll receive progress photos from the studio along the way. We confirm your exact timeline before you pay.

How is it shipped, and do I need to frame it?

Your canvas ships rolled in a protective art tube by international courier — the safest way to move a large original painting. You then take it to any local framer to be stretched onto a wooden frame (a quick, inexpensive job). We include clear instructions and the canvas has extra margin for framing. Tracking is always provided.

What do the palette options mean?

One colour: a single background with a single ink — graphic and quiet. Duotone (+10%): one background with two inks, for more depth. Full colour (+20%): a coloured background with three or more tones — the vibrant, signature Love Yourself Tree. You also choose a background mode: dark, white, or light, at no extra cost.

How do payments work?

A 50% deposit confirms your commission once you've approved your preview. The remaining 50% is due when your painting is finished, before it ships. Payments are processed securely by card; full terms come with your preview.

How do I know it's an authentic original?

Every commission is an original painting — never a print. It is signed on the front and the back and arrives with a numbered, signed certificate of authenticity. (Affordable prints of the series are sold separately and are always clearly labelled as reproductions.)

Can I commission a specific city, or a meaning?

Yes — that's the heart of it. Name any horizon (a volcano, a skyline, a coastline) and tell Diego what the tree should hold: a new home, a person, a chapter beginning or closing. He paints it in.
